Cabrillo National Monument & Point Loma Lighthouse

Cabrillo National Monument is set at Point Loma.  A point of land just north of San Diego Bay where the Navel station resides.  From this point you can see all of San Diego (on a clear day) down to Mexico and up to LA; watch boats sailing/motoring in/out from the sea and the navy flying reconnaissance drills with all sorts of aircraft.  Prior to entering Cabrillo park you must drive through Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery.  I had only been to a national cemetery as a kid and, as an adult, I took pause.  It seems to go on forever.  Ed did say that if they have space, we both could be buried there.  Good to know.
Also located in the park is the old Point Loma Lighthouse.  I love lighthouses :)
Fun fact:  They have found remnants of human occupation, on Point Loma, that date back as far as 7000 years!
